One of the most important questions that any local church can ask itself is: Who are we? What do we value as a local body of believers? The question of core values is exceedingly important because core values determine a church’s thrust, and direction, or lack of the same.
A church’s core values may be selfish, sinful and harmful to the church’s continued existence, or they can be biblical, positive and pro-active. Core values influence a church’s decision making, problem solving, risk-taking, task setting, team building, and the allocation of time, personal finances and resources.
Therefore, the leadership of Battle Ground Bible Church has identified and highlighted eight core values that drive everything that our local body does and aspires to.
TRUTH
We are devoted to proclaiming the truth with boldness. (2 Tim. 4:2)
EXALTATION
We are devoted to magnifying and exalting Jesus Christ through the praise and prayer of the gathered body. (Eph. 5:18-19; John 14:13)
DISCIPLESHIP
We are devoted to discipleship that changes lives. (Mt. 28:19-20; Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:1-17)
RELATIONSHIPS
We are devoted to accountable relationships that unify the body of Christ. (Gal. 5:13-14; Eph. 4:1- 3; Phil. 2:1-5; Heb. 10:24-25)
MINISTRY
We are devoted to making every member a minister. (Rom. 12:6; 1 Cor. 12:7)
LEADERSHIP
We are devoted to developing broad godly leadership. (Eph. 4:11-12)
OUTREACH
We are devoted to impacting our community and the world through gospel outreach. (Matt. 28:19- 20; Acts 1:8).
REPLICATION
We are devoted to replicating like-minded sister churches.
These are the core values that drive Battle Ground Bible Church. And so in light of these core values and the teaching of Scripture, we as a local body are devoted to Building a Community of Worshipers with a Passion for God and Compassion for People in Our Community and around the World.
